David Riaño Molina is a Colombian guitarist, composer and producer based in Berlin, Germany.

During his studies at the Jazz Institute Berlin (UdK), with the world-renowned jazz guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel, David was internationally active and played concerts at major festivals such as the Jazz Festival Berlin, Jazz Festival Lyon (FR), Jazz Festival Leipzig, Theater- Jazztage Stuttgart, Jazzfestival Enschede (NL), Jazzfestival Fieberbrunn, (AT), Jazz Festival Telaviv (IL) and Jazz Festival Limassol (CY).

In 2017, he began to expand his compositional work to include stage and theatre music, working as a live musician with director Falk Richter on the production “Verräter” at Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin. Additionally he worked as musical supervisor and assistant along Nils Ostendorf with director Thomas Ostermeier at the Schaubühne Berlin, on the productions “Im Herzen der Gewalt”, “Abgrund” and “Jugend Ohne Gott” in 2018 and 2019.

In 2021 he started working with director Marius von Mayenburg on his production “Reden über Sex”, as well as “Nachtland” in 2022.
In 2023 he created the music for “Egal”, Marius von Mayenburg’s latest work, which was premiered at the National Theatre in Iceland.
